If an alien astronomer has to file a report on our solar system there is a huge probability that he will end up concluding 2 planets where life can exist:

1). Earth

2). and Mars

Reason is that both of these Planets are in Goldilocks zone of our solar system. Goldilocks zone is defined as the space or area where life can exist, area which is safe from immense cosmic explosions and winds. 

Earth is blessed with atmosphere whereas Mars is dead. Life on Earth has a savior in the from of magnetic field.

Our sun is constantly sending deadly radiations, if we do not have a Magneto-Sphere these radiations will blow up our atmosphere and without an atmosphere liquid water will completely evaporate leaving dried and dead planet. Also End of Human Race from planet Earth.

Astronomers and Scientists claim that once Mars also had a magnetosphere and had same atmospheric conditions but with time its magnetic field decayed until it was completely finished. as it had no magnetosphere Mars lost its atmosphere and had to face severe deadly radiations coming from sun. Hence Mars became a dead life. Temperature and Pressure reached to such a high level that liquid water evaporated.

Latest research on Mars shows that there are signs of water on Mars in ICE form. That ice is said to be stable to this time because of addition of other minerals in ice preventing it from evaporating.

My Point Of View:

As Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) told: and I explain it my words and Allah knows best

"Qayamat k din Soraj sawa nesay pe hoga"

One of the possible meaning to the Hadith could be on the LAST DAY earth will lose its magnetosphere and will face severe deadly radiations coming from sun. We will face conditions of high temperature and pressure like we are sitting next to sun. 

if that's the case or any Surely Allah Pak knew.
